wisteria

hi, friends!
hope y’all have had a healthy and enjoyable start to spring…i cannot believe it’s about to be may (cue the JT meme). this week’s post is short and sweet because it’s mostly about the background. chelsea asked me to shoot with her in front of this beautiful wisteria tree in nashville, and i have to say the photos were even more magical than i thought.

because i knew where we’d be shooting, i wanted the outfit to be a bit elevated and feminine.  i decided to style up my cute little knot sisters dress from a few weeks ago.  i figured i should make it suitable for a night out or date and wore it as it was designed – as a dress.  i told y’all i’d show you how to wear it multiple ways, and this time i dressed it up with a layered necklace, the most beautiful hat that i own, and some new shoes.  y’all have seen the camel pair of these before, and i’ve been eyeing the gray for a couple of years (yes — years) now.  finally sprang for them a few weeks ago when the weather got warm enough for me to commit to wearing open-toe shoes (by that i mean giving myself a pedicure).

just so y’all know, there likely won’t be a post from me next week.  i got a little overbooked in the month of april and just wasn’t able to get a shoot done somehow.   i work with a lot of awesome photographers, but it can just be difficult to coordinate because everyone has other obligations to work around.  as much as i love doing the blog, it takes a lot of preparation and time to take these photos, and scheduling conflicts are inevitable.  part of the problem is that i put a lot of mental effort into them and if i can’t do it the way i want, i’m apt to just bag it.  i’m pretty perfectionistic when it comes to DT?.  it can sometimes be draining and part of my commitment to myself with the blog is that i never want it to feel like a chore — at this point, it isn’t a job, it’s a hobby, and it’s mostly supposed to be fun and inspiring.  i’ll be back at it, though, the following week!

that’s a wrap, folks! ➸

Beautiful dress and the tree (bush?) Is just perfect. I agree the outfit is perfect for a date. Good to see you and you do a very good job putting it all together.
