hi, friends!
happy first friday of june, y’all! i cannot believe it’s june…cma fest is around the corner and the nashville predators are in the stanley cup final! work has been wild and we are gearing up for cma fest, so i will not be posting next week. it’s an exhausting time but i’m really looking forward to it because i’ve been hustling and we have some awesome merchandise in our stores to sell! i’m really proud of our product for cma fest and hope our customers like it, too!
anyway, i thought for this week i’d highlight a new trend to try: embroidery. i’ve posted about embroidery before, but this week i wanted to show it in a different but still wearable way. i paired this adorable zara suede skirt with a simple white tank (side note, i have this tank in 4 colors – it’s $20 from free people and i love it) to let the skirt be the statement, then piled on the accessories for a personalized feel. i think the girliness of the floral embroidery looks great with the suede, as it gives it another element of texture and richness. this skirt looks way more expensive than it was, which is always key when you’re shopping fast fashion.
in reality, i think the star of this photoshoot is the beautiful natchez trace parkway, where delaney and i shot this look. this particular stretch of road is just so charming in all its middle tennessee glory, don’t y’all think?
shopping tip
just because an item is inexpensive doesn’t mean you shouldn’t think carefully about your purchase; again, make sure you can think of at least three ways to wear it before taking the plunge. i love this skirt styled with a menswear button down, a simple t-shirt, or even a sweater in the fall.
hat – lack of color; tank – free people; skirt – zara {similar here}; sunglasses – ray-ban; bralette – urban outiftters {similar here}; shoes – jeffrey campbell; bracelets – judith bright; rings – vintage
