hi, friends!
woohoo! feels like summer in nashville, y’all! hopefully you’re experiencing the joy of warmer weather wherever you are, too! with the new season comes new trends and new ways to wear your favorite pieces. now’s the time to take a risk and have a little more fun with your day-to-day wardrobe. this outfit is probably my favorite look i’ve ever featured on my blog, and i hope y’all love it as well. suede is one of my favorite materials; i almost always choose suede shoes over leather because it typically looks and feels more expensive; i always think faux suede looks more convincing when i’m buying less expensive pieces. this is actually a genuine suede skirt from zara i was over the moon to score. it feels great, is a good fit and length for me, and it was really reasonable.

this look is all about textures and layers. i wanted to play up the texture of the skirt by adding other materials in there but keeping the color family relatively neutral. the pops of blue perfectly play up the camel color of the skirt to me, and i really love the modern-casual-meets-1972 vibe. this color is extra versatile because it makes it seasonless; you’d probably feel a bit out-of-sorts if you were trying to wear a black suede skirt in summer. i love the suede for summer because it’s something other than denim or cotton, and you normally see it only in fall so it’s a little unexpected. if you’re adventurous you could pair it with a black crop top, or make it office appropriate with a black silk shirt. come fall it will look awesome with a slouchy sweater and boots!
delaney and i shot this while wandering around downtown nashville. rocket fizz is a candy store at church and 2nd avenue. how cute is this door?

the crystal necklace is a purchase from one of my favorite instagrammers kacey royer. she handmakes pretty, ethereal jewels for really reasonable prices. it’s the first time it’s appeared on the blog, but i’ve worn it several times a week since i got it! i fell in love with its earthy and casual look, but she has tons of different items from laid-back to gold-dipped. check her out on etsy or follow her along on instagram @kaceyroyer.

i scored this bag on super sale several years ago. it’s perfectly slouchy, and i loved that extra layer of texture it brought to the look.
that’s a wrap, folks! ➸
many thanks for reading!
