hi, friends!
i’m back, y’all! took a little break from the blog for a few weeks due to some scheduling issues and a general lack of time. i’ve been contemplating going back to school and am looking at some different program and degree options, trying to decide my path. also, this time of year is not generally the most exciting time with regard to fashion. all the spring product is rolling out and most of the country can’t wear it — nashville included — although we’ve had some uncharacteristically warm temperatures as of late. the weather has been a little unpredictable and we’ve had some 70-degree days, so i’m definitely getting more in the mood for spring. i know we’re supposed to have 6 more weeks of winter per punxsutawney phil, but i’ll take the warm weather days in stride as a chance to bring out some of my spring wardrobe and experiment with some new trends.
this adorable sweater is an amazing price point (under $60) and available via council wardrobe studio; the fabric and quality seem on par with something a lot more expensive so it’s a great buy. also, for what it’s worth, clare (who owns council) is my friend and lent me the sweater to style for my blog, but i wouldn’t wear it if i didn’t like it. i don’t make commission on any of her sales, i just genuinely love the products she buys for her clients. she has amazing taste and great, classic style, so if you’re in nashville and want some professional styling help, she is your girl! anyway, the sweater is a little cropped with a batwing sleeve and it looks awesome with high-rise denim. i love it with flares but it would look great with a skinny jeans or even a mom jean if that’s more your style.
if you needed an extra layer, you could easily throw on your favorite leather jacket (on sale for an amazing price!) or a cozy shearling vest and be ready for a little cooler weather or for a night out. lightweight sweaters like this are great staples for your transitional style because they’re lightweight and easily layerable, comfortable, and versatile. you could also wear this with a high-rise pencil skirt for work or a denim mini for play.
lauren and i were wandering around the gulch shooting when we came across this amazing vintage jeep, so it felt like a perfect backdrop for this ensemble; to me it made it very nashville. hope y’all like the photos and thanks so much for reading!

i love the silhouette of this sweater – the blousiness of the batwing sleeve balances the cropped length, so you get a flattering drape without it being too boxy.
