hi, friends!
happy friday! i cannot believe april is over; it went by so fast but i’m honestly not mad about it because i’m really excited for summer. i don’t have that much going on or anything, but i’m definitely looking forward to what warm weather brings and the social buzz that summer holds. i’ve got a good feeling about this summer for whatever reason, so i’m just going to go with it! this week i’ve got a super casual, very “me” look featuring one of my go-to, ride-or-die pieces; an oversized tee. this is a new version from free people called the oversized city slicker tunic. it comes in a bunch of awesome colors, and i totally love it. pieces like this are great because it has just enough stylistic detail that it brings a little edge to an otherwise basic look but still is easy to wear. the side slits give it something special and make it a lot more flattering than something that is straight down; i like it tied like in the photos, but it looks cute untied as well. this, to me, is a classic free people staple; it’s made for layering and extremely versatile while being an easy, throw-and-go type of piece. i wore it with jeans and cannot wait to style it also with shorts; but it would look really cute over a girly slip for a little laid back sex appeal as well.
i added some new jeffrey campbell ankle boots i snagged while looking for the perfect low height, black leather boot that i could wear all over. i obviously love the western detail and the low height is more flattering on me than the more current above-the-ankle cut that’s circulating. they’ve got a little cutout but are easy to wear and go with everything. obviously i love mixing neutrals, and this outfit is a great example of that — black, brown, olive green, and grey all work really well together and for me feel more interesting than something overly coordinated.
