summer’s swan song

hi, friends!

well, yesterday was the first day of fall but nashville hasn’t really acted like it much lately. we got a taste a few weeks ago but it’s still in the nineties so i’m still wearing dresses, shorts, and tanks. we have a slower transition to fall, which is pretty frustrating when all you want to do is wear sweaters, but i’m trying to enjoy it! so, this week i’m offering up a little late summer style tips and outfit inspiration.

by now y’all probably realize that it’s all about having layers in the cooler mornings and evenings, but shedding those when the sun comes out and you’re in the heat of the day. this dress is a great neutral color scheme, and it will be wearable into fall if i simply add a denim jacket or sweater and sub the sandals for booties.

i love this little dress i’m wearing and i hope you like the photos. i shot these with lauren newman, who is a young photographer and very sweet, but also really talented. i hope y’all like these photos, because i sure do! i’m looking forward to working more with her in the future! one of the most fun things about blogging is meeting and working with new people, so i’m very thankful for the opportunity to have her shoot for the blog.
