i hope you all are in the mood for something a little different. this is a decidedly more casual look than you’re used to seeing on the blog, and that’s because it stems from an outfit i wore a couple weekends ago when nashville was quite warm. i tweaked it a bit because i suddenly remembered i had these frye boots, but i basically wore this outfit nonstop for three days. i felt like a cool boho cowgirl in this, so of course i loved it.

not much styling advice to give besides the importance of finding great basics you love that you can throw on to make an outfit still feel polished. i’ve said it a million times, but it’s really true! even if you’re basically wearing a cardigan, tee shirt, and jeans, if you choose items with personality, you’ll still feel like you’re expressing your personal style. if you have something you love, buy it in a couple colors! i’m a huge advocate of that because if i find myself wanting to wear it a lot, or wishing i had something in a different color, it’s probably a good indication that that piece is one i’ll get good mileage out of. then you can mix it in with other statement pieces for something that’s truly your own!

no, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. this sweater is a different color. i switched mid-shoot because i liked the grey better with the jacket.

this necklace is really cool but i rarely wear it because it’s scratchy. things to note when buying jewelry.

this is my favorite shot from the shoot. doesn’t it look like we’re in montana? lately i have had this obsession with montana. i really want to go out there and trail ride horses through the mountains and across open fields. also, i want to visit the southwest. where do you all want to travel next?
