hi, friends!
another week has come and gone. after several rainy days in music city, the weather flipped on itself and gave us hot, 80-degree days. i’m really stubborn about my seasons, so having it that warm in April makes me a little upset. i think spring should be high 60’s and 70’s — shorts with lightweight sweaters, swingy dresses, skirts and long sleeved tees, and so on. i’m not ready to sweat, mother nature!
hat – free people; sunglasses – wildfox {on sale!}; top – jen’s pirate booty; jeans – current/elliott {old, similar here}; boots – sam edelman; bag – proenza schouler
this is just a simple post meant as outfit inspiration for spring weather. i love breezy, gauzy tops when the weather starts to warm up, and this number from jen’s pirate booty has been a staple in my closet for several years. they transition well from jeans to shorts, and can even work for a casual work look with black cigarette pants. i’ve owned the fringed sam edelman booties for 4 years now and they’re still probably my favorite shoes. they go with everything and make every outfit a little more me. also, keep in mind that you can either tuck your jeans into your booties or cuff them. in retrospect, i probably would’ve cuffed these, but i don’t mind that they look a little disheveled. like i always say, the trick is not to appear like you’ve tried too hard.
didn’t delaney do a great job of capturing the bohemian feel of this look? we tried to experiment some more with back-lighting, and i love how they turned out!
