hi, friends!
january is almost over, can y’all believe it? it flew by for me between blogging, work, and riding. trying to have a social life fits in there somewhere, too. we had a great big snowstorm in nashville (this is relative…nashville isn’t used to snow, nor is it really equipped to handle it) but unfortunately i didn’t get to frolic in it besides a little at home with my dogs. maybe we’ll get some more snow that i’ll be able to snap some photos in…last year’s snowy blog post was definitely a highlight. now that the snow has melted, though, i’m kind of ready for spring, although that’s wishful thinking. in any case, i’m excited we’re getting that much closer to warmer temps. i’m also hoping to ramp up my posting schedule over the next few months, so be on the lookout to more weekly posts from me. i’m aiming for two-to-three posts per week.

this week’s outfit was inspired by mixing cozy winter textures and layers. i scored this shearling vest on sale from free people and knew i wanted to style it with a denim shirt. the bolo tie was also a sale find so i thought…why not wear it all together! it’s definite “cowgirl vibes,” which i know can be a bit much, but they’re sort of my thing.
style tip
if you aren’t trying to look like john wayne is your style icon, you could take the bolo off and style your shearling vest with a simple chambray shirt, black skinny denim (distressing optional) and some ankle boots for a more contemporary, casual look.
