boho fall style

hi, friends!

y’all, i just cannot believe it’s already october. the summer flew by and now it’s officially fall, which is very strange. it’s really not cooled off much in nashville, but i am starting to want to wear my fall clothes. obviously i shot this look much earlier in the season, but to me this is a pretty good example of how you can incorporate your fall pieces when the weather isn’t quite cooperating.

wearing a sweater with shorts is a very boho/california look in my opinon. not sure exactly where i got this notion, but i feel like back in the day on laguna beach, the girls would wear cute sweaters with their shorts at night when they would do beach parties/bonfires. i think this open-knit sweater from spell (sorry – it’s sold out, but i linked a version from free people below) is a great transitional sweater because it’s easily layered without being too hot. it looks cute over a slip or dress, on its own, or even layered over a button-down.
