hi, friends
hope you all are doing well! in keeping with last week’s post on winter whites, i thought this week i’d show you a similar way to style all black! i actually did not plan for these outfits to be so similar, but they are. i think this is a bit more approachable because a lot of people feel comfortable in all black. these photos were taken by delaney on the same day as the photos with the crazy ice, and you can catch glimpses of it in the background of some of the shots.

i picked this kimono up at free people about a month ago, and i’m really excited about it. kimonos are great as a “third piece” and function just like a jacket or sweater, but add a bit of bohemian, feminine flair to everything. i also don’t wear a lot of black (and rarely all black), but this embroidery is so pretty i felt like it would be really versatile addition to my wardrobe. it definitely ups the stevie nicks factor to anything, which i am obviously all about. i’d wear this to a casual dinner or night out with my friends, or out and about on the weekends. i chose to wear this all-black ensemble to make the kimono and shoes pop, but i would also totally wear this with an easy white tee and a brown belt for an even more laid-back vibe.

i chose these booties because they look awesome with all black as they add a bit of pop and texture, but you could just as easily wear this look with a pair of black booties. if you are looking for some, i love this classic buckled pair. these sam edelman booties lend a bit of rock ‘n’ roll to everything, plus they are really comfortable. many of you may wear leopard as a neutral often, but if you don’t, you should try it! it’s easier to pull of than you think, and looks good with everything from all black to jeans and a white tee. start with a great pair of leopard print flats (the pointed toe is very on-trend), or even a skinny leopard belt.
