hi, friends!
y’all, these are some of my favorite photos ever; this is also one of my favorite outfits i’ve ever shared on the blog, so i hope you’re ready for a lot of photos. Â these photos look like we’re somewhere out west — montana or wyoming, maybe — and i love the vintage western feel. Â we’re really at percy warner park here in nashville, and it really makes me appreciate how beautiful tennessee is that this is right in my backyard. Â doesn’t change the fact that i really want to visit “big sky country,” and be a cowgirl for a while.
this outfit is just a fun, casual look that is sort of a formulaic “uniform” of sorts for me – tee tucked into jeans with a higher rise, ankle boots, jacket, and accessories. Â i don’t always wear hats in “real life” – i typically only wear them if i’m going out to a bar or concert, or for special occassions that a hat makes sense for. Â they are very much an attention-grabber in real life, and truthfully, that’s not something i am really comfortable with in my day-to-day life. Â i know it probably sounds trite, but i truly dress how i dress mostly for fun and to express myself, not necessarily for attention. Â i am a pretty introverted, private person and really use this as a creative outlet for my outfit ideas. Â i know i share very little personal details on my blog but maybe that’s something i should do more of…?! Â if that’s something y’all would like from me – please let me know in the comments! Â i’m really interested to know what those of you who consistently read would like to hear more of.
my style is very casual, americana, and tomboy. Â it’s interesting, because i used to be much more girly, but since i moved back to nashville i’ve definitely been influenced by the laid-back style of our town. Â i love the combination of denim and suede or leather. Â it’s all-american, classic, and easy. Â the combination of textures is interesting, too, especially when layered with something soft (like a t-shirt) or feminine (like silk or lace). Â what are your favorite combinations to wear?
shoutout to my girl, delaney royer, who’s getting married next month.  without her behind the lens, this blog wouldn’t be anything and i owe so much to her for being able to execute my vision.  we get along so well that after we’re done shooting we’ll sit for half an hour — in the heat or in the cold — just chatting about everything from politics to our distaste for the “good old boys club.”  we also happen to be the same myers-briggs personality type, so we’ve got an understanding that is hard to find.  she’s so stylistic and has a unique perspective; if you’re in the area and need photos or just a creative friend, check her out!
