hi, friends!
this week, delaney and i decided to go back to our roots with the photos we took for the blog. instead of aiming for your more blogger-standard type photos, we decided to go more editorial/artsy just to mix it up! we ventured over to natchez trace parkway to get back to nature, which is where i really prefer to shoot since the more urban look is so ubiquitous. i’m really envious of the bloggers who live out in california with their beautiful deserts and beaches; but middle tennessee is awfully pretty, especially this time of year, so i hope you enjoy the photos!
the highlight of this outfit is obviously the boho embroidered bomber jacket. i’m a late adopter to the bomber trend, but only because i didn’t really fall in love with anything. someone returned this understated leather bomber to my local free people store and i saw it by chance one day while i was shopping. i had to pass on it at the time due to the price. but, i lusted after it (for obvious reasons – horseshoes, duh!) hoping it would go on sale, but eventually kind of gave up. however, it finally went on sale over at revolve, and i was even able to get them to price match it to get extra savings!
shopping tip
the squeaky wheel gets the grease, y’all! don’t be afraid to ask a retailer to price match! i managed to get this price matched to about 40% off the original price when free people was running an extra percentage off their sale items. free people didn’t actually have my size, so i asked revolve to price match what i’d pay at fp, and they did it! nothing ventured, nothing gained, i say! many popular retailers will price match, including nordstrom, shopbop, free people, and revolve. most will also offer a price adjustment if an item you’ve previously purchased goes on sale (typically within a specified time frame).
