hi, friends!
happy earth day! goodness, april sure is flying by. i did my first horse show in probably eight years this past weekend and i had a blast! overall, it was really successful. the horse i am leasing is very green so he’s learning his job and i’ve transitioned from doing the show hunters to the jumpers, so i’m learning, too (sorry if that means nothing to you!). we had so much fun and even won a class. we rode sunday in the pouring rain (i have literally never been that wet in my whole life) but it was fun and a great experience. luckily, i get to do it again this weekend! i can’t wait. i’ll try to get some photos to post soon. equestrian sport is by far the chicest of them all, so who knows, it might be worth blogging!
this week is really just an outfit inspiration post, featuring a crazy cool skirt by spell & the gypsy collective. they are one of my favorite bohemian brands and this skirt is really fun to wear. the first time i wore it out, i got all kind of compliments, even from men. i took the outfit i wore that night and threw on my fringe jacket because it was a brisk day, and delaney and i headed out to the lake to shoot it!
jacket – cleobella; necklace – brand unknown {from nashville boutique sisters of nature}; tee – free people; bralette – free people {on sale!}; skirt – spell & the gypsy collective; booties – dv dolce vita {on sale!}
style tip
i love the high-waisted column silhouette of this skirt as it elongates my frame, and one of my favorite ways to style a high-waisted skirt is with a t-shirt tied in a knot at the waist. it’s a great way to get that “crop top” feel out of something you already own. try pairing your favorite maxi skirt with a vintage t-shirt for a cool-girl, tomboy look.
➶ details ➴
opal rings and turquoise bangle – child of wild {1, 2}
don’t worry, i had little bike shorts on under the skirt. the slits come up pretty high! a bike short in nude comes in very handy when you’re concerned about being modest.
that’s a wrap, folks! ➸
many thanks for reading!

I love the skirt! And these photos are fantastic; the wind and the water make me feel relaxed just looking at them 🙂
