only you can prevent forest fires

hi, friends!

it’s your friendly neighborhood park ranger, alyssa!  this outfit was built around these insane elizabeth and james stiletto hiking boots i pulled from the archives.  i’ve had these a while and worn them a few times, but clearly they are not a shoe for everyday.  this chunky turtleneck sweater positively called my name, and i thought it looked perfect with the boots and my favorite rag & bone black distressed jeans.  i threw on my wonderful barbour coat mostly out of practicality, but it ended up being a perfect topper for the look.

it was raining and i almost fell climbing on these rocks, but at least delaney got the shot!  this is the same hat i wore last week that inspired me to dress as a park ranger for three days.  i love it so much!  if you haven’t gotten on board with the hat trend, now is a great time to take it for a spin!  try something in a neutral shade with a more structured brim and throw it on with your favorite jeans, scarf, and sweater while you’re doing your christmas shopping.  it will keep your head warm and add instant polish to your favorite pieces.  some times all it takes to turn what you’re wearing into an “outfit” is a few key styling tricks with accessories.

my lip color is mac’s rebel.  some of you have been asking for me to do a makeup tutorial, and while i am definitely not particularly gifted with cosmetics, i have something in the works.  look for a glimpse into my makeup bag and a list of some of my favorite products next week!
