happy wednesday! it’s almost may, which means that wedding season is coming up. there are lots of parties and events in the summer, and many of you may be attending the kentucky derby or nashville’s iroquois steeplechase in the next few weeks. hopefully this look can provide you with some inspiration for your summer party looks (hint: you don’t have to wear lily pulitzer).

i’d been dreaming of a matching set since last spring, but couldn’t find one that suited my fancy. i took the plunge on this alice and olivia x piece & co. collaboration and i’m really glad i did. i’ve already worn the skirt on its own, so i love that extra versatility that comes from it being two pieces rather than a dress. i wore it with these clunky zara sandals to tone it down a bit, but imagine it with pretty wedges or heels and a hat! perfect for the derby, and a lot less predictable than what most others will be wearing.
