hi, friends!

hey y’all, it’s me! i’m back.  cma fest went really well so now things are in full july 4th mode at work.  the summer is off to a great start!  i got to go to not one but two of the nightly concerts during music fest and thoroughly enjoyed myself both times!  i’m looking forward to spending some quality time with my gal pals this summer and am planning to make attempts at being more social.  we’ll see how that goes.

anyway, i hope y’all like this week’s post.  i won’t be posting next week due to delaney being out of town, but we will shoot soon so i can get back to a more normal schedule.  this week’s look is all about this boho off-the-shoulder dress, which i got from an incredible local store called the perfect pair.  if you haven’t been in and are in nashville, it is a must-see while in green hills.  whitney, the owner, focuses on amazing shoes, accessories, and quality basics with a few statement pieces thrown in.  everything has what i’d call a “polished casual” vibe, which is right up my alley!  whitney is also incredibly personable and so easy to talk to, y’all have to pay her a visit!

normally i’d probably avoid a dress like this because to me it’s a piece that combines two “trend” silhouettes: it’s off-the-shoulder and has a trumpet sleeve.  typically i think that’s way too much trend for one garment, but since it’s a more muted, olive green and simple shape, i think it works.  plus i just liked it and it was very reasonably priced!  obviously i dressed it down but this is an easy piece to make work for dressier nights out or even a wedding.   frolic

free people sundrenched straw tote

by now i’m sure y’all have seen straw bags on every blogger and her mom, so of course i had to get one with a cactus on it.  this one is huge and would actually be quite functional for the beach or farmer’s market.  this trend is a great example of one that could be easily thrifted or bought vintage; in fact, i think that a vintage straw bag is way cooler than something new and i’m already on the hunt for one.
