hi, friends! technical difficulties delayed this post a bit today, but as i’m sitting writing this it’s pretty brisk outside…naturally, i’m on cloud nine. i enjoy summer but for me these cool nights and morning with sunny days are what it’s all about. i am most comfortable with temperatures in the sixties when you can wear outfits like this one and not get too warm. what can i say? i love to layer. this look was inspired by the poncho – it’s from a local store called vinnie louise that sells really affordable, straight-forward clothes that are super functional as the building blocks of a wardrobe. every so often, though, they get some really fun seasonal items like this that make trend dressing more approachable. anyway, i got this poncho and wanted to style it in a way that felt very 1970’s bohemian but still modern. it can be tough to wear the 1970’s trend without it reading too costumey. lately i’ve been wearing my flares with ankle boots, which is extremely practical and comfortable but still still gives me that boost of confidence that’s always drawn me to flares. hat – nordstrom {similar here}; sunglasses – wildfox; poncho – vinnie louise {similar […]
